Terabolic Client Support .: Spam .: What are the spam, spam-notcaught, and spam-badcaught folders?

What are the spam, spam-notcaught, and spam-badcaught folders?

Our advanced anti-spam system integrates user training into its weighted artificial intelligence based algorithms. Emails believed to be spams by the system are automatically filtered into the 'spam' folder.

To increase the effectiveness of the anti-spam system you must feed misclassified emails to the anti-system. To do this, move emails that ARE spam, but ARE NOT caught by the system (and thus are delivered to your inbox) into the 'spam' folder of your account. To further increase effectiveness also move emails that ARE NOT spam, but ARE marked by the system as spam (and thus are delivered into the spam folder) into the 'spam-badcaught' folder.

Ok we know this is a little confusing. To summarize:

1) Missed Spams (are spam, not marked as spam by the system) should be moved into the 'spam-notcaught' folder.
(a.k.a. Why didn't the system catch this, its clearly spam => 'spam-notcaught')

2) Misclassified Spams (are not spam, are marked as spam by the system) should be moved into the 'spam-badcaught' folder.
(a.k.a. Why did the system think this is spam, its not => 'spam-badcaught')

If you do not have either of the above folders, you may create them (please make sure to use all lower case characters and to use the exact spellings above).

Emails in the above folders are automatically fed into the anti-spam system on a nightly basis. Messages in the spam-notcaught folder are deleted 24 hours after being fed into the system. Messages in the spam-badcaught folder are not deleted, and are left to you to delete or file away at your leisure.
